New details are being released in the case of a carjacking and an extensive manhunt that went down Thursday afternoon. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is saying it all started with an armed burglary at a home, then an attempted break-in, followed by two carjackings, shots fired and finally, the naked suspect’s arrest.According to investigators, the suspect, Kenneth Brown, broke into a home off Eisland Boulevard on Wednesday and stole three fire arms and a bag of coins.Things carried over to Thursday, they said, because Brown couldn’t carry the coins during his initial burglary, so he went back for them. The homeowner was there at the time, and told deputies he tried chasing Brown, despite that fact that Brown pulled out a gun and pointed it in his direction.Brown got away and made it to a nearby apartment complex, where officials say he hid in the bushes until he saw a 10-year-old child and asked to be let inside the kid’s home. The child said no, ran into the home, locked the door and alerted the parents, but deputies say Brown tried breaking in anyway. When he wasn’t successful, the crime spree continued. Deputies say he ran to another apartment complex where he pulled a gun on a woman who was unloading groceries from her car, and demanded she give him a ride. She refused twice, and officials say that’s when he just stole her car and took off. But he wasn’t in the car long before investigators say he abandoned it, and targeted another female driver. This time she did give him a ride, but deputies say she dropped him off near the woods and she was unharmed. He took off into the woods, but by then, deputies were not far behind.Search crews were out by air and on the ground in an effort to track him down. They say they heard at least one gunshot during the hunt, but no deputies were injured. They were finally able to track him down near some train tracks in the area early Friday morning. He wasn’t wearing any clothes, deputies assume, because he ditched them during the manhunt. He was taken to a local hospital before deputies booked him at the Land’ O Lakes jail.Pasco Sheriff’s records show this isn’t Brown’s first run in with the law. He’s been arrested about a dozen times in the last six years for meth, theft, battery, assault and arson.
